The Sails of Saint-Tropez are multiple regattas that take place once a year in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez for a week, end of September – beginning of October.
The history of the sails of St Tropez began on September 29, 1981 when the sailboat Pride launched a challenge to the 12 meters Ikra on a course going from the village of St Tropez to the beach of Pampelonne while passing by the Nioulargo (nest of the broad one in local language ).
Since then, every year, the most extraordinary sailing boats of the world, modern and traditional meet in the Gulf of St Tropez to challenge in an atmosphere where competition and conviviality mix.
In its current format, the event, sponsored by the Yacht Club de France, lasts 9 days and includes about 300 classic and modern sailboats.
